I have a strong English aesthetic; I was born in London, and have spent the majority of my life in the United States. International travel, art, architecture and design, and food and wine have been a constant source of inspiration in my life. Home is essential to me, and art features heavily in each one that I design. My home expresses my love of family, both two and four-legged, and our passion for travel and entertaining friends. Creating home means mixing treasures from the past and various journeys abroad with comfortable sofas and chairs, books, cabinets, tables, art, and interesting objects, which are well-lighted and artfully displayed.
Because of my European heritage and American upbringing, I am able to work seamlessly within diverse cultures, understanding multiple expectations. As you will see on my recent projects page, I have just finished a third Paris apartment for American clients. These apartments have been a joy to create and each one embodies the owners’ spirit, interests, and objectives.
Currently I am working on a legacy ranch in Hillsboro, Texas which features a historic 19th century barn. Relocated to the property from central New York State, it was re-erected by agrarian craftsmen, and is now being lovingly converted into the owners main residence. It will serve as the focal point of the ranch and will include the many treasures the family has collected over time.
Additionally, during 2019 and 2020, I am working on a significant Highland Park estate property in Dallas, Texas. It features a historic home originally built in 1921, which is being painstakingly restored and will be connected to extensive new state-of-the-art construction. It is a true collaboration between the homeowners, architects, builder and me. This collaboration is always the most beneficial for the homeowner and the finished product. Working with the homeowners, we will find a place for their existing furniture, art and treasures while adding many new pieces that reflect their taste today. This mix and layering is the true expression of the English aesthetic.
